About Me
As a passionate fan of the animation industry and its work, Kim uses her passion for this art form to create her own art. She hopes to work in the animation industry in the future, likely as a character designer, though she is excited to learn more about what opportunities the industry has to offer. Drawing inspiration from Japanese animation and Western cartoons, Kim’s illustration work utilizes cell shading and contrasting line weights. With a solid foundation from classes including Basic Drawing, Figure Drawing, Color Theory, 2-D and 3-D Design, Kim has many skills to build upon and is determined, motivated and ready to learn to animate. As a primarily digital artist, Kim has utilized various tools including Wacom and Huion drawing tablets, and programs such Medibang Paint, Clip Studio Paint and Procreate. She has some experience working with Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator, but is working on developing and honing her skills with them. In 2024, Kim received her Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Raritan Valley Community College. Currently, she is continuing her education at The College of New Jersey, majoring in Interactive Multimedia with a focus in Visual Storytelling and Animation.
